Increasing root mycorrhiza through fertilizers – what are the benefits?
There is a population of fungi in the soil that form mycorrhizae with plants, the greatest advantages are manifested in terms of mineral nutrition, water supply, and resistance to stressful conditions. Mycorrhizal fungi live in symbiosis with the roots of higher plants to provide sufficient amounts of food through the plant system, and in return, help the plants with a number of other benefits. Mycorrhiza is a combination of the Greek words “mycos” (mushroom) and “rhyzos” (root), which literally means “fungal root”. Its name best describes the association and function of fungi in symbiosis with plant roots.
